There are no known contraindications between probiotics, medications, or supplements; therefore, PDS-08&#xAE; Pediatric Daily Synbiotic would generally be safe to take alongside any supplements, prescriptions, or over-the-counter medication(s) which your child may be taking.Ultimately, we always recommend consulting with a prescribing physician regarding the combined utility of PDS-08&#xAE; and any medications or supplements in your child&#x2019;s routine, so they may advise with the complete knowledge of their health history.

As there are no known contraindications with PDS-08® Pediatric Daily Synbiotic, supplements, medications, and antibiotics, it is safe to take PDS-08® alongside these treatments. However, we always recommend checking with your child’s doctor or pediatrician. While on a course of antibiotics, we do recommend spacing out when your child takes the antibiotic from PDS-08® as far as possible—i.e., one in the morning and one in the evening. During and after antibiotic use is a good time for probiotics, as numerous studies have evaluated  a variety of strains and combinations of strains for their ability to mitigate GI distress during antibiotic use such as antibiotic-associated diarrhea (AAD). It's important to note, though, that probiotics are beneficial organisms that are also susceptible to being killed off by antibiotics—especially broad-spectrum antibiotics, which is why we generally recommend trying to separate intake as much as possible if they are to be taken at the same time.
